Bouffant hatches some eggs!

Well about 5 weeks ago, Bouffant decided she wanted to be a mama.
So she went broody.
I tried for a week to change her mind, but that wasn't happening.
So I decided to let nature take over.

She wasn't sitting on any eggs. She was just sitting.
So I added a collection from everyone under her.
I didn't think she would mind.
I actually added more eggs than there are in the picture.

So for three weeks she sat and she sat.
She was such a good mom to be.
Then finally on day 21 the hatching started.
Here's a picture of one of the first.

Although she had nine eggs under her only three hatched.
Here they are at one day old.

Meet "Sunflower".
You can still see her egg tooth.
She's one day old in this picture.

Here she is at one week old.
She's starting to get some tail feathers.
Isn't she cute.

Going by the shells that were hatched
Sunflower's mama is Sadie.

Her daddy is Biscuit.

This is Dolly.
She's one day old here.

Here she is at one week old.
Look how she's grown.

Her mama is Copper.

And her daddy is Slippers.

Our third little chick is Nugget.
She's one day old in this picture.

Here she is at one week old.
If you notice they all have feathers on their feet.
Both dad's are Bantams which have feathered feet.

Once again Sadie is the mom.

And once again Biscuit is the papa.

It's kinda sad that none of Bouffant's eggs hatched.
She tried so hard.
I'm sure that this won't be the last time that Bouffant goes broody.
We'll just have to wait and see.
You might have notice that I'm calling them all girls.
That's wishful thinking because I won't know for sure until about
nine or ten weeks when somebody might crow.
Let's just hope they all turn out to be girls.

But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
